Aloha Handyman is not a typical handyman service. It is a relationship-driven, family-rooted craft practice specializing in custom carpentry and restoration work in Martinez and throughout the surrounding Bay Area.
I’m Justin, the founder and sole craftsman behind Aloha Handyman. My family and I live in Martinez, and our kids go to school here. This community is home. While I still work throughout nearby Bay Area cities, my primary focus is serving local Martinez homeowners who value craftsmanship, longevity, and trust.
I’ve been building my entire life. I come from a family of builders—my grandfather built his own home, my father grew up in it, and I started working alongside my dad when I was seven years old. Over time, that early foundation expanded into shipyard work building boats, solving complex structural and mechanical problems, and studying marine electrical systems. I’m also an artist by nature, which means I approach building with an eye for form, balance, and longevity—not just function.
A core focus of my work is the restoration and thoughtful improvement of older homes, especially the historic houses found throughout Martinez and the East Bay. These homes were built with high-quality lumber, strong joinery, and a level of intention that allowed them to last nearly a century—or more. My goal is to honor that original craftsmanship, not erase it.
I specialize in custom carpentry and one-of-a-kind builds such as handcrafted gates, fireplace mantels, architectural details, and custom elements designed to feel like they belong in the home—not like an afterthought. I am especially drawn to projects where care, patience, and problem-solving are required to integrate new work into old structures with respect and integrity.
Much of modern construction prioritizes speed and cost over durability, often relying on materials and methods meant to last only five or ten years. My approach is different. I aim to build things that will last for generations—work that someone a hundred years from now could still appreciate, repair, and value.

I don’t run a crew, and I don’t subcontract the craft. When you hire Aloha Handyman, you work directly with me from start to finish. Every cut, joint, and detail is shaped by my hands and my experience. Renee, my administrative assistant, supports communication and scheduling so I can stay focused on the work itself and on the people I’m building for.

Don't let the flip flops fool you-- Justin Jenkins (AKA Aloha Handyman) is a skilled & talented craftsman. He came to my office and attached a wall mounted desk & a few other items that required precision and finesse. Its always a crapshoot hiring an unknown contractor from the internet. Justin is awesome. Very easy to work with. Trustworthy, smart and diligent. He came up with great solutions. I can't recommend him enough.
I do concrete work and Justin called me to bid out a foundation slab. We bid it out start to finish- demo existing, excavation, set up and pour. A couple weeks later he had forms ready to pour! Justin demolished existing, excavated, formed, and did all the set up. For not being a concrete guy, his work was pretty good. Forms and steel work was on point. We came in to pour and finish the work, job came out perfect and it worked out for everyone. Justin is cool and easy to work with- clear communication, responsive, and made the whole transaction go smoothly with the homeowner. I will definitely work with him again

Justin was so helpful with my home project. I wanted to renew my kitchen with some new cabinets and he was so responsive, accurate & completed the job in the time he said. He came in under his estimated budget! Next job, he is the one I'm calling again!

Justin does phenomenal work. He painted a room and ceiling for me, hung pictures, and fixed a door in my house. He is efficient with his time, kind and thorough. In addition to handyman work, justin hand creates beautiful art and house hold utensils. He made me a wooden spatula, a spoon, hair piece, and wooden art for my wall.
